About This Project

A Roswell homeowner had four raised flower beds in their backyard and a central landscape island that lacked definition. The beds had been edged with plastic borders that were cracking, heaving, and generally failing after just a few seasons. They wanted a permanent concrete solution that could follow the custom shapes of their garden layout.

We formed custom-shaped concrete borders for each of the four flower beds and the central landscape island, following the homeowner’s existing layout while smoothing out any irregular curves. Two of the beds feature angular corners for a more geometric look, while the island and remaining beds follow organic, curved shapes. All borders were extruded at a consistent height of 5 inches with a classic slant-face profile in a warm sand color.

The new concrete borders completely transformed the backyard. The flower beds now have clean, permanent edges that hold mulch in place and create a sharp visual separation from the surrounding lawn. The homeowner filled each bed with a mix of annuals, perennials, and ornamental grasses, and the defined borders make the plantings pop. This project shows how concrete curbing can replace inferior edging materials and deliver a dramatically better result that lasts for years.
